So yeah... the English language is filled with many oddities... one of them being the word "refrigerator." Now, refrigerator is spelled without a d... yet when we shorten it to "fridge"... *gasp* there's a d! ... o_o... Now why is this? Well, if we shortened it just like it's spelled originally, it would be "frige." Not only does that look funny, but it would also be pronounced with a long I sound... like "fraige" or something. Frige is actually some kind of Anglo-Saxon pagan holiday. So why don't we just spell refrigerator with a d? "Refridgerator" doesn't look too horrible... looks better than frige... *sigh* Oh well, thanks again english. Sayonara. hehe
